Site Safety Engineer

Description

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans and procedures in compliance with local regulations and company policies.

Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards (e.g., falls, electrical risks, heavy equipment operations).

Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site staff and subcontractors.

Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.

Ensure all personnel wear proper PPE and follow safe work practices.

Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure alignment with project safety requirements.

Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation as required by regulatory authorities.

Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve safety issues in a timely manner.

Stay updated on the latest safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven working experience in construction site safety (minimum 1 year – typically 2–5 years, adjust as needed).
• In-depth knowledge of local construction safety regulations and standards.
• Strong ability to conduct risk assessments and implement effective controls.
• Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
• Proficient in MS Office and safety management software.
