Manufacturing Manager

Description

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop departmental budget plans and review strategies/action plans to align with company business objectives and customer requirements.

- Ensure daily production output fulfilment, continuously improving on-time delivery (OTD) performance for work order completion, and identify areas for continuous improvement.

- Lead and manage end-to-end manufacturing processes including SMT, Wave Soldering, PCB Routing, and Testing operations, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and quality.

- Drive direct labour cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing areas through Lean manufacturing, automation, and process innovation to achieve desired product quality, yield, and cost effectiveness.

- Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams including SMT engineers, Wave Soldering engineers, Routing technicians/engineers, and Test engineers, ensuring alignment with production goals and business objectives.

- Monitor manpower capability and awareness; ensure adequate training is provided to operators and engineers on quality standards, process requirements, safety practices, and company regulations, with strict execution and compliance.

- Collaborate closely with Process Engineering and Quality teams, including Test Engineering, to perform root cause analysis (RCA) on quality issues and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and quality systems.

- Support and oversee Test Engineering activities (ICT, FCT, Debug) to ensure high first-pass yield (FPY), efficient debugging, and robust test coverage.

- Maintain manufacturing facilities, equipment, and production lines in safe and optimal working condition; continuously improve facility and workshop layout in line with Lean and 6S principles.

- Build and sustain a high-performance production team with strong ownership, accountability, and quality mindset; motivate and inspire teams to meet challenges and achieve operational excellence.

- Manage WIP materials effectively, ensuring proper storage, handling, and inventory accuracy to minimize material attrition and losses.

- Ensure all production activities comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures; monitor workplace safety, proper waste disposal (including hazardous materials), and employee health protection.

- Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, supporting implementation and continuous improvement of management systems.

- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).

- Strong manufacturing knowledge, preferably in EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) industry, with hands-on experience in:- SMT processes and equipment

- Wave soldering operations

- PCB routing / depaneling

- Test engineering (ICT, FCT, Debug)

- Minimum 10 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in a production/manufacturing management role.

- Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional engineering and production teams.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills; proficient in spoken and written English.

- Self-driven, result-oriented, with strong teamwork, execution capability, and ability to work under pressure.
