About the role

We are seeking a Safety and Health Officer to join our team at Woo Lai Fat Construction & Trading Sdn.Bhd' in Kuala Selangor District Selangor on a contract basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

What you'll be doing

• Develop, implement and monitor safety policies, procedures and programs to promote a safe work environment
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
• Provide safety training and education to all employees to raise awareness and improve safety practices
• Investigate and document accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and industry best practices
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients and stakeholders on health and safety matters
• Maintain detailed records and documentation related to health and safety
• Support the implementation of environmental management systems and initiatives

What we're looking for

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Safety and Health Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and industry standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and training skills to effectively engage with employees at all levels
• Proficient in risk assessment, incident investigation and safety auditing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive safety initiatives
• Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a safe work environment
