Description
Job Outline:
* Develop, document, and optimize injection moulding processes for new and existing tools.
* Establish and maintain robust process parameters to ensure part consistency, cycle time efficiency, and quality compliance.
* Analyze and troubleshoot moulding issues such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, and dimensional inaccuracies.
* Collaborate with tooling, quality, and production teams on mould trials, new tool validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), and DOE studies.
* Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
* Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for non-conformances and process deviations.
* Support preventive maintenance efforts for moulds and machines to ensure reliable operation.
* Assist in training production staff and process technicians on best practices and new processes.
* Identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, and waste elimination within the moulding process.
* Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as ISO/quality standards.
Academic Qualification & Skill Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* 2-5+ years of experience in injection moulding process engineering.
* Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines (e.g., Arburg, Engel, Husky, Sumitomo, etc.), hot runner systems, and auxiliary equipment.
* Familiarity with scientific moulding techniques, process monitoring tools, and mold flow analysis software.
* Solid understanding of plastic materials (thermoplastics), material drying, and troubleshooting resin-related issues.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
* Working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC, DOE, and quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, CAPA).
* Prior experience working with automotive, medical, or high-precision plastic components.
* Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin is preferred for effective communication with stakeholders.
