Junior Data Engineer

Description

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of database systems.

- Support database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting activities.

- Execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.

- Monitor database health, availability, and security to ensure optimal performance.

- Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to support business applications.

- Assist in database upgrades, patch management, and migration projects.

- Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and technical reports.

- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and operational standards.

- Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis for database-related issues

Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management, or a related field.

- Minimum 2–3 years of working experience in database administration, database engineering, or a related technical role.

- Basic understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL,MariaDB or equivalent platforms.

- Familiarity with SQL scripting, database backup and recovery concepts, and performance monitoring tools.

- Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

- Fresh Graduates encourage to apply with approximately 1 year of internship, 1 year industrial training, or relevant hands-on experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a strong learning mindset, positive attitude, and commitment to professional development.

Successful candidates will be expected to pursue and obtain a relevant database certification within their first year of employment, with support and guidance provided by the company.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
