About the Role

We are looking for a capable and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a Sarawakian with strong corporate legal experience and the ability to support business operations through practical legal advice, contract management, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on corporate and commercial matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements and legal documents
• Ensure company compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements
• Support corporate exercises including joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, and business expansion activities
• Liaise with external solicitors, regulators, and relevant authorities
• Identify legal risks and provide practical risk mitigation solutions
• Assist management on legal strategies and business decisions
• Handle dispute management and legal documentation when required

Requirements

• Sarawakian candidates only
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent
• Called to the Bar / qualified legal practitioner is an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in corporate or commercial legal practice
• Strong background in corporate law, contract management, and compliance
• Experience from corporate companies, MNCs, public listed companies, or legal firms handling corporate matters
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Able to work independently and manage multiple matters effectively

Preferred Background

• Experience in corporate advisory, commercial contracts, governance, or regulatory matters
• Exposure to industries such as energy, construction, property, manufacturing, or oil & gas is an advantage

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
