Assistant Manager, Finance

Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role will supervise finance staff, manage key accounting functions, and support strategic financial planning while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and review the daily operations of AR, POS and GL functions.
• Supervise and monitor junior finance staff to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing.
• Review sales transactions, POS reports, collections and revenue postings.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports, reconciliations and analysis.
• Perform variance analysis and provide support for management reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and periodic financial updates.
• Handle tax-related matters, including preparation of tax computation and supporting schedules.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant authorities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Support process improvements to enhance finance operations and reporting efficiency.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience in finance and accounting.
• Experience in reviewing and supervising accounting functions will be an added advantage.
• Preferably with exposure to AR, POS, GL, month-end closing and financial reporting.
• Retail Industry experience will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Oracle NetSuite ERP is preferred.
• Familiar with tax computation, SST and statutory compliance.
• Good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
