Microbiologist

Description

Perform microbiological testing in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Conduct routine analyses such as microbial limit tests, pathogen detection, environmental monitoring, and water testing.

Prepare and quality-check culture media, reagents, and microbiological materials.

Ensure accurate recording, calculation, and verification of test results in compliance with data integrity requirements.

Perform method verification and validation activities as assigned.

Participate in proficiency testing (PT) programs and inter-laboratory comparison

Support investigation of non-conformances, out-of-specification (OOS), and out-of-trend (OOT) results.

Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to laboratory activities.

Operate, maintain, and coordinate calibration of microbiological laboratory equipment.

Perform Growth Promotion Tests (GPT) and monitor media performance.

Ensure proper sample receipt, handling, storage, and disposal according to procedures.

Maintain laboratory documentation, worksheets, and logbooks in accordance with document control requirements.

Assist in internal and external audits related to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Adhere to laboratory safety, biosafety, and waste management procedures at all times.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, training activities, and competency programs within the laboratory.
