Safety Health Officer

Description

We are looking for a competent and certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) to oversee workplace safety, ensure compliance with regulations, and promote a strong safety culture within the organization. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies and minimizing risks across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance & Enforcement

• Ensure full compliance with OSHA 1994, DOSH regulations, and company safety policies
• Monitor daily site/workplace activities to ensure safe practices
• Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

2. Risk Management

• Conduct HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control)
• Develop and implement safety procedures and control measures
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective/preventive actions

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation
• Prepare monthly safety reports and statistics
• Ensure all legal requirements and documentation are up to date

4. Coordination & Liaison

• Liaise with DOSH, local authorities, and internal departments
• Support audits and inspections by authorities
• Work closely with management to improve safety performance

Requirements

• Must be a registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH Malaysia (Green Book holder)
• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum [2–5] years of relevant working experience

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1994 and Malaysian safety regulations
• Familiar with HIRARC, JSA, and risk assessment methods
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and enforcement skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and proactive
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Added Advantages

• Possess own transport and willing to travel
• Certified in First Aid / Emergency Response

Working Details

• Location:Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam
• Working Hours: Mon-Fri (8.30am-5.30pm)
• Employment Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
