Job Description:

1. Responsible for compliance of the Environmental requirements at construction site
2. Responsible to update any new regulations announced by DOE or Natural Environmental and Resources Board (NREB) or other authorities relating to the Environmental.
3. Monitor all environmental activities on the construction site and report the finding to the Project Manager.
4. Ensure the adherence to all Environmental Rules, Regulations and Procedures and stop an operation in case of a dangerous circumstances until measures has been carried out
5. Prepare and conduct the orientation/ induction course to each employee(s) at the beginning of his/her work operation on the project site.
6. To carry out weekly and monthly general inspection and observations around the site project to spot ill practices, hazards and dangers to maintain a safe and healthy-working environment.
7. Organize and conduct Environmental induction talk to site personal and construction workers in the “Toolbox Briefing “
8. Attend the monthly Site Environmental, Health and Safety Committee Meeting Conducted by the Project Manager and assist draft the Minutes of EHS Meeting stating the agreed follow-up actions and responsibility.
9. Prepare and ensure Environmental program and environmental control is implemented at construction site
10. Compile and process all Statical Records and Reports in respect of Environmental Performance.
11. Develop, promote and maintain a working liaison with local authorities, inter departments, industries concerning environmental protection.
12. To conduct joint investigations with EHS Committee Member on accidents, near misses, fires, property or environment damages incident in order to determine their causes and recommend remedial actions.
13. Liaise with the Environmental Consultant to carry out environmental monitoring/ sampling if required
14. Review report prepared by Environmental Consultant i.e., EIA, EMP audit report etc.
15. Liase with relevant authority for approval pertaining to environmental issues at construction sites.
16. The above-described tasks of the Environmental Officer are in support of the Project Manager who is fully responsible for implementing and maintaining the Environmental, Health and Safety Standards at the Project Sie. Ultimately it is the latter’s task to ensure employee and protection throughout all phase of the Project

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of ESH requirements and regulatory compliance in construction projects.
• Ability to prepare and implement Project Environmental Management Plans (PEMP).
• Familiar with EMS ISO 14001 and OHSAS/ISO 45001 management system requirements.
• Able to work independently with strong coordination and communication skills with site personnel and government authorities.
• Willing to work at Jalan Loke Yew, Kuala Lumpur.

Job Type: Contract

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
